The legal base of the bilateral relations
Before the establishment of the Embassy in Hungarythere were only two agreements between our countries - Protocol on Cooperation between Ministries of Foreign Affairs (Baku, February 28, 1997) and Agreement between Governments on visa free travel for holders of diplomatic and service passports (approved by the Governmental law on July 18, 2000). In order to have legal basis to fruitful cooperationof two countries, with support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan the Embassy initiated drafts of agreements with different Ministries and organizations of the Republic of Hungary. Nowadays there are more that 30 agreements under discussions, about half of them are ready for signing. We plan to sign agreements during high level bilateral visits, either in Baku or in Budapest.
