The presentation of a book entitled "The South Caucasus – centered Transport Hub: The Crossroads of the East-West and North-South Corridors" was held in Hungary

On 20 December, 2017 the presentation of the book entitled "The South Caucasus – centered Transport Hub: The Crossroads of the East-West and North-South Corridors" and jointly implemented by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary was organized in Budapest.

The event which was held at the Institute of the Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary was attended by the officials, researchers, local media, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Hungary.

The first two chapters of the book, were written by Hungarian and the other two chapters were written by Azerbaijani authors.

In the opening remarks, Mr. Márton Ugrósdy, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade shared his views on the issues reflected in the book and spoke about the projects implemented in the region.

Then, Javid Valiyev, the Head of the Foreign Policy Analysis Department of the Center for Strategic Studies and Zaur Shukurov, the Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Hungary spoke about the book, Azerbaijan's leading role in the energy and transport projects and the large-scale reforms implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

The attention of guests was also drawn to the aggressive policy of Armenia against Azerbaijan and the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding seven regions by Armenian armed forces.

At the event Mahir Humbatov, the editor and the author of one of the articles, spoke on "Transport, Trade, Investments and Logistics of the East-West Corridor focusing on Azerbaijan" and the other co-authors Diána Szőke, the senior analyst of the Institute of Foreign Trade and Trade and an expert, Gábor Braun presented their analytical views on "Europe-South Caucasus-Asia energy link" and "Trade and Logistics of the East-West Corridor: Europe-China and vice versa and the role of Azerbaijan".
