The presentation of two volumes of trilogy “Heydar Aliyev: Personality and Time” translated into Hungarian was held in Budapest

On May 2, 2018 the presentation of the two volumes of the trilogy “Heydar Aliyev: Personality and Time” by the well-known Azerbaijani writer-publicist, deputy of National Assembly Elmira Akhundova  translated in Hungarian  was held in the Great Hall of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Hungary.  

Hungarian scholars and writers, representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Budapest, journalists, representatives of Azerbaijani Diaspora and Azerbaijani students attended the event dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Hungary Vilayat Quliyev presented the book's author, Elmira Akhundova, and Tamas Varhegyi, who translated the book into Hungarian. The head of the diplomatic representation spoke about the lifetime of the great politician, as well as the period of his works under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev.

Then, the author Elmira Akhundova spoke about the life of a prominent statesman, especially during the difficult moments of the country in 1991-93 - the most memorable episodes of chaos and anarchy. She also mentioned the names of her new books, talking about future plans in honour of the bright memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The author of the translation, T.Varhegyi emphasized the importance of the Hungarian public to know about the processes and prominent personalities in the region. He acknowledged that Heydar Aliyev’s unique personality made him to be more responsible in the translation process. The interpreter expressed confidence that the trilogy and the main hero of the trilogy will help the Hungarian readers to know and love this country, as well as understand the country's problems and difficulties, to believe in the bright future of this beautiful country and its people.

Academician of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Gabor Hamza, the rector of King Sigismund  University Szatmári Péter, Hungary's first ambassador to Azerbaijan Eno Boros, well-known journalists Peter Dunai and Peter Erdeli, the translator of the Azerbaijani literature from origin Maria Kenesi, chairman of Hungarian-Azerbaijani Friendship Society Svetlana Abdullayeva and other participants shared their impressions about the book.

During the presentation, the participants also expressed a number of views on Heydar Aliyev's life and their numerous questions were answered by the author in detail.

The event was followed by a reception.
