Hybrid conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary
An international conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary was held in Budapest on June 21, 2022. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Hungary, the Hungarian Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Institute for Development and Diplomacy and the AIR Center.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Hungary Tahir Tagizade, Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan Viktor Szederkenyi, and Director of the Hungarian Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade Marton Ugrosdy expressed their appreciation of the successful cooperation and strategic partnership relations between the two countries.
The conference continued in two panels entitled "The impact of the geopolitical situation in Eastern Europe on connectivity. Growing importance of the Middle Corridor, including Zangazur Corridor as a source of hope for the region" and "The changing geopolitics of energy in Europe". Vice-Rector of ADA University and Director of the Institute for Development and Diplomacy, Fariz Ismailzade, Leading consultant of the AIR Center, Naghi Ahmadov, representatives of the Hungarian Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mathias Corvinus Collegium, MOL, and SOCAR were among the speakers. The growing importance of the Caspian Basin in terms of both transport corridors and energy resources due to the ongoing war in Ukraine was widely discussed.
The international conference was attended by 50 guests, including representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as the heads of diplomatic missions of Slovenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Georgia, the head of the Representation Office of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest, the members of media, local community and academia, and students studying in Hungary.
