Consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary
On March 4, 2024, the first consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary were held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
The head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Emil Safarov, led the Azerbaijani delegation, and Balazs Farkas, the director of the Consular and Citizenship Department of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, led the Hungarian delegation.
Tahir Taghizadeh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Hungary, as well as an official of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the meeting.
During consular consultations, the current situation and development prospects of consular cooperation with Hungary, which is an important partner country for Azerbaijan, as well as the possibilities of signing new bilateral documents in the field and digitizing consular services were reviewed.
The parties who exchanged information on the latest developments in the consular field also emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between Hungary and Azerbaijan in education, migration and other fields and for this purpose taking necessary measures to protect the rights and duties of citizens.
An agreement was reached between the parties to hold the next meeting of consular consultations in Baku in 2025.
