  Tahir Taghi-Zadeh

 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

  of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Hungary

 

Born on August 11, 1967 in Gorkiy, USSR.

Graduated cum laude from School of International Relations at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1989.

1989-1990 - intern at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union.

1990-1995 - secretary-archivist, attaché, then 3rd secretary at the USSR (Russian Federation) Consulate-General in Brno, CSFR (later - Czech Republic).

1996-1997 - 2nd Secretary of the Department of Europe, US and Canada at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

1997-2004 - 2nd, 1st secretary, then Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United States of America.

2005-2007 - Director, Department of Press and Information Policy, Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.

22 February 2007 - 09 July 2014: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic

09 July 2014 - 23 July 2021: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Since 23 July 2021 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Hungary

Working languages: Azerbaijani (fluent); English (fluent); Russian (fluent); Czech (fluent); Slovak (some); Turkish (some).

Hobbies include: writing poetry, music, movies and literature.

Married. Has two sons.
